A man who was refused entry to an aircraft because he was too drunk became aggressive and abusive to staff and airport police, a court heard yesterday.

David Stafford, originally from Dublin but who has been living in New York for the last 10 years, pleaded guilty to causing a breach of the peace and being drunk at Dublin Airport last Friday.

Judge Patrick Brady applied the Probation Act on the basis that Stafford pay £500 to Aware and the Garda Benevolent Fund. He also ordered not to drink alcohol while on anti-depressants.
