It has been reported that President Mary McAleese broke her ankle in a skiing accident in Austria.
The accident happened on Christmas Eve when President McAleese fell from a ski lift. The accident happened in Bad Hafgastein, near Salzburg.
It is understood she fell when she was attempting to board the lift. She was taken to hospital and is due for release tomorrow.
