The State pathologist, Dr John Harbison, yesterday resumed his post-mortem examination in Navan General Hospital of the partially decomposed body of a woman believed to be that of German journalist Ms Bettina Poeschal.

A Garda spokesman said no identification of the body was expected for several days. Ms Poeschal's family have not yet arrived in Ireland.

The body was discovered in dense undergrowth in Donore, Co Meath, last Wednesday.
