Possible WWII bomb found in NI harbour

A Co Down harbour has been reopened after a device thought to be a second World War bomb was discovered there this morning.

A Co Down harbour has been reopened after a device thought to be a second World War bomb was discovered there this morning.

A police spokeswoman said the bomb was found floating close to Warrenpoint Harbour after it was uncovered by dredger this morning.

Police in Newry were liasing with the military and the harbour commission, and as a precaution traffic was diverted away from the vessel.

The object has now been removed and the harbour has been reopened.
