MINSK - Up to 30,000 Belarussians held an unprecedented post Soviet rally yesterday against their president's plans to merge with Russia, marching through the city and besieging state television offices. The protesters demanded air time for liberal politicians on state media controlled by President Alexander Lukashenko.
