London - The woman who has claimed former Tory minister, Mr Neil Hamilton and his wife, Christine, sexually assaulted her, was re-interviewed by police yesterday after reports that fresh evidence had emerged, writes Rachel Donnelly
Scotland Yard insisted their investigation would continue into Ms Nadine Milroy-Sloan's allegation that the Hamiltons sexually assaulted her at a flat in Ilford, east London in May and that she was raped by another man. But some reports yesterday claimed detectives were preparing to halt the investigation following the discovery of mobile telephone records which apparently show Mrs Hamilton was 13 miles away from Ilford, speaking to her mother at the time of the alleged attack.
Ms Milroy-Sloan (27), a trainee college lecturer from Grimsby, Humberside, waived her right to anonymity at the weekend after the Hamiltons last week insisted she was telling lies. She spent several hours speaking to detectives at Barkingside police station in Essex. The Hamiltons claimed they were "wholly vindicated".
