Petrol bombs thrown at police in Derry riots

PSNI officers were attacked last night during rioting in Derry city.

PSNI officers were attacked last night during rioting in Derry city.

The violence began around 8.00 p.m. and lasted until early this morning.

At least three petrol bombs and a paint bomb were thrown at police in Irish Street by a gang of youths. The gang also knocked down a tree to block the road to police vehicle.

There were no serious injuries reported.
