Pedestrian killed in Dublin crash

A man (56) has died after he was struck by a car in Dublin city centre in the early hours of this morning.

A man (56) has died after he was struck by a car in Dublin city centre in the early hours of this morning.

The incident happened at a junction between Amiens Street and Talbot Street at about 1.15am.

Amiens Street was closed for a number of hours due to a forensic examination but has since reopened. Diversions have been lifted and traffic is moving well.

Witnesses to the incident are asked to contact Store Street Garda station on 01-6668000.

Separately, O'Connell Street has reopened northbound at the Abbey Street junction following an earlier bus fire.
