Pedestrian (14) dies in hospital after collision

A girl (14) has died in hospital of injuries received when she was knocked down by a car in Co Cork last week.

A girl (14) has died in hospital of injuries received when she was knocked down by a car in Co Cork last week.

Clodagh Murphy of Gleann Na Rí, Tower, Blarney was hit by a car near her home on Wednesday, September 20 th.

She died last night in Cork University Hospital.

Gardaí at Blarney are investigating the incident.

According to Garda statistics, 276 people have died on the Republic's roads since the beginning of this year.

Meanwhile, a child and an adult are in a serious condition in hospital today following a three-car collision in Co Kerry yesterday.

Ten people, including six children under the age of 14, were injured in the collision at Urroghal, in Farranfore on the Killarney-to-Tralee section of the N22.

All ten were brought to Kerry General Hospital.
