New York - The Disney boss responsible for Pearl Harbor has left after the second World War epic flopped at the US box office. The wartime romance starring Ben Affleck and British actress Kate Beckinsale had been touted as the next Titanic but failed to set the box office alight and is so far nowhere near breaking even.

Mr Peter Schneider, chairman of Walt Disney Studios, stepped down after 18 months in charge of the entertainment giant's film-making division.
