Former England defender Stuart Pearce is to sign for first division Manchester City, the club said today.
Pearce (38) is out of contract after a spell at West Ham United.
He will be Kevin Keegan's first signing since the former England coach took over at Maine Road last month.
Left-back Pearce also played for Coventry, Nottingham Forest - where he had a stint as player-manager - and Newcastle before signing for West Ham in August 1999.
