An order restraining works aimed at creating compensatory feeding grounds for wintering birds on the River Boyne Estuary has been continued by the High Court until June. However, Mr Justice O'Sullivan said Drogheda Port Company, which was carrying out the works, which involve the removal of acres of Spartina grass, could apply to the court before then to have the order lifted.

Earlier this week, Mr Justice O'Sullivan upheld complaints by Coastwatch Ireland campaigner, Ms Karin Dubsky about DPC's non-compliance with certain of the conditions laid down by him last September in relation to the creation of an alternative feeding ground for wintering birds on the River Boyne Estuary.
