Celtic manager Martin O'Neill admits he may have to think twice before signing another Irish-born player after the death threat issued to Neil Lennon in midweek.
The midfielder was forced to withdraw from his role as captain of his national side ahead of the friendly against Cyprus on Wednesday after a phone call to a Belfast newsroom warned of a threat to his safety.
O'Neill is fully supportive of his player's decision, but he concedes signing future Northern Irish players may prove problematic.
O'Neill said: "I hadn't thought about that but I've no doubt that those sort of thoughts may well enter his [a new player's] head. It would be a concern if that situation arose.
"I'm fully supportive of Neil's decision. If Neil Lennon decided to change his mind in some way - I'm not so sure he will do - but I will go along with that decision also".
