Leeds manager David O'Leary has announced he will resume control of training sessions.
His announcement comes after his assistant, Brian Kidd, was criticised by a section of the club's fans for the Yorkshire side's recent poor form.
Former Manchester United number two Kidd was the subject of derogatory abuse by Leeds supporters during Sunday's goalless draw with Everton at Goodison Park.
O'Leary and the Leeds players have supported Kidd, but the manager explained he felt the need to return to the training pitch because of what he felt were shortcomings in Kidd's approach.
"Brian is going to be there for training but I am going to take the sessions from the very start," he said. "When the boss is not there, training is never the same. There's always more tempo when the boss is there.
"Brian's sessions are interesting. But if he is 1 per cent short from being the complete coach, it is that he could be a little bit more confrontational with players. He lets them get away with things that I don't think he should," O'Leary said.
