Reports this morning suggest that Mick O'Dwyer is to be invited to stay on as manager of Kildare for another year.
O'Dwyer is due to retire from inter-county football once Kildare are eliminated from this season's All-Ireland Championship, but Kildare Chairman, Andrew O'Sullivan, today intimated he may ask O'Dwyer to postpone his departure.
Kildare face Kerry this weekend in Thurles, and O'Dwyer has already shown he remains totally focused on the job despite what promises to be an emotional weekend by dropping his own son, Karl, from the starting line-up.
