A nurse accused of assaulting and poisoning two patients at Naas General Hospital has applied to have her case transferred from Naas to Dublin today.

Ms Noreen Mulholland (33) of Runabeg Close, Kildare town, has been charged with two counts of assault causing harm and two counts of administering a substance known to interfere with bodily functions.

The charges relate to two male patients who attended the hospital while Ms Mulholland was a nurse there in 2003.

Ms Mulholland's solicitor, Mr Robert Eagar, told the Naas Circuit Court that the defence team had just received five volumes of material and that it needed time to absorb it.

Mr Eagar also said he would make an application to have the case transferred to the Dublin Circuit Court.

Judge Raymond Groarke adjourned the case and will hear the application on December 3rd.
