A decision on whether Irish racing can resume on April 14th will not be made until early next week.
The meeting of racing's two governing bodies, The Turf Club and the Irish Horseracing Authority (IHA), with the Department of Agriculture`s Expert Advisory Group ended today without any answers.
Over the weeekend, the Advisory Group is to consider submissions by the Turf Club and IHA about measures to prevent the spread of foot-and-mouth and the economic implications for the industry due to the suspension of racing since February 27th.
"The controls and procedures which were drawn up by the IHA and the Turf Club jointly were documented for the expert group who are to consider the submissions over the weekend and respond early next week," said an IHA spokesperson.
