Newcastle United have completed the loan signing of French defender Sylvain Distin for the remainder of the season.
The 23-year-old follows in the footsteps of forward Laurent Robert, who also left Paris St Germain to join the Premiership club last month.
"We are delighted to have secured the services of Sylvain for the rest of the season," Newcastle's chief operating officer Russell Cushing said in a statement today.
"He is a very accomplished defender who I am sure will be a very good addition to our squad."
Distin will not be involved in Wednesday night's League Cup game against Brentford at St James' Park.
