The South Eastern Health Board is continuing to report new cases of the winter vomiting virus at hospitals.
Waterford Regional Hospital has seen six new cases of the virus since Tuesday, with five of those being staff. This brings the total number of staff who have had the virus to 217. Some 88 patients are also understood to have contracted the virus.
However, the virus passes through the patient quickly and symptoms have usually abated within 48-hours. This evening, one patient remains symptomatic and seven members of staff are off-duty.
Most of the visiting restrictions have been lifted although one ward remains strictly closed to visitors.
No new cases have been reported at St Canice's Hospital, Kilkenny since Tuesday. One patient is still showing symptoms and the hospital remains closed to visitors.
