OnTheTown: Music was talk of Lillies Bordello on Wednesday night as a throng descended to celebrate the launch of O2 In The Park.

"Expect a bit of craic from the presenters," said Caroline Monahan. She will be on duty along with Brian Dowling and Fran Cosgrave at the free concert in The Phoenix Park on August 27th. "We'll be getting the inside gossip from the performers," she said.

Ryan Tubridy is planning to go to the concert for the first time this year to "see what the young people are doing". He was particularly pleased that the concert is free. "It's the most democratic concert of the year," he said. "I like democracy in music."

Brit Award winner Lemar is headlining and other acts confirmed include The Saw Doctors, Hazel Kaneswaran and X-Factor contestants G4, Tabby Callaghan and Tyler James. The rest of the line-up remains under wraps but British singer-songwriter James Blunt could well make an appearance.

Dubliner Ray Shah, Big Brother runner-up two year's ago, was also enjoying himself at Lillies. "I'm looking forward to seeing Lemar," he said. "If the atmosphere is as good as it was last year and everyone is as up for it, it'll be a great concert."

You're A Star judge Hazel Kaneswaran said she cannot wait to perform at this year's O2 In The Park and her fans can expect an upbeat musical performance. "My music's a mix of dance, rock and pop," she explained. "It's feet to the floor stuff."
