A man in his twenties died after being found in Co Monaghan with serious injuries, gardai said.
Emergency services were called to a location at Tullycoora, Castleblayney, shortly after 6pm yesterday.
He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda but died a short time later. A garda spokesman said: "The scene has been preserved for technical examination and the State pathologist has been notified.
"An incident room has been set up at Castleblayney Station."
