A man charged with murder is to apply to the High Court for bail

A man charged with murder is to apply to the High Court for bail. Mr Sean Brennan (48), with an address at Church Street, Tullamore, is charged with murdering Ms Bernie Sherry at Shanderry, Portarlington, on April 5th or 6th.

Ms Sherry's body was found, in the boot of a car at a flats complex in Tullamore last Saturday morning.

At yesterday's remand hearing in Killucan District Court, Supt Gerry Murray sought an adjournment to May 7th.

This was opposed by Mr Donal Farrelly, defending, who told the court that his application for bail would come before the High Court in Dublin on Monday next.

Judge Aidan O'Donnell, remanded Mr Brennan to appear at Tullamore District Court on Wednesday next, April 16th.
