A mountain rescue team has resumed its search to recover the body of a man who fell yesterday from a mountain at Leenane on the Galway/Mayo border.
The man was among a group which went hiking on the more than 600 metre-high summit known locally as Devil’s Mother. The alarm was raised around teatime.
Members of Mayo Mountain Rescue set out yesterday at about 6pm to try to recover the body but were unable to do so.
