A mother of two from Oranmore, Co. Galway, will be ordained as a priest at a ceremony in St Mary's Cathedral, Tuam, next Thursday. Mrs Maureen Ryan (54) says her ordination will be another major step for her in the Church of Ireland as she has spent almost a year working in the parish union of Tuam and Cong as a deacon.
Mrs Ryan, who also works as a psychologist and a writer, will be ordained by the Rt Rev Richard Henderson, Bishop of Tuam.
