The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church, Dr John Lockington, will visit Irish troops serving with the UN in Lebanon this weekend. It will be the first time a Moderator has visited Irish Army personnel serving abroad.

Dr Lockington will meet the Army's Brig Gen Jim Sreenan who is also the deputy commander of the 6,000-strong UN force serving in Lebanon. He hopes to see at first hand the humanitarian work of Army personnel in local schools, clinics, local self-help groups and in particular the Tibnin orphanage.
