Internment should not be part of our legal system because it violates important human rights and runs counter to the constitutional emphasis on liberty of the citizen.

Special Criminal Court should be dispensed with on the basis that non-jury courts are outside the norm of the common law system.

Membership of an illegal organisation should not be provable on the basis of the opinion of a Garda superintendent, even if denied.

Right to silence: no adverse inference should be drawn from the accused exercising his right to silence.

Access to a solicitor: A solicitor should be present during interrogations.
