AC Milan have all but completed the deal to bring Brazilian World Cup winner Rivaldo to the San Siro, according to reports in Italy.
The 30-year-old is set to join Milan after being released from his contract a year early by Barcelona last weekend in a cost-cutting exercise.
He was also linked with moves to both Madrid clubs, Real and Atletico, as well as Lazio and Newcastle. But it appears he has settled on a move to Serie A, although he has been forced to accept a pay cut.
Milan are believed to have offered him a deal worth £3 million compared to the £3.8 million he was on at the Nou Camp.
Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti is confident they have got their man and is already predicting great things from the former World Player of the Year.
"Rivaldo is outstanding. With him it will be easier to win the Scudetto," Ancelotti told Corriere dello Sport.
"Now I have many champions and an attacking team. Someone will have to sit on the bench but I don't think that it will be a problem."
