The Mayo Gaeltacht area of Tourmakeady will host a summer language and culture school for six days from August 9th. Entitled Ceol na Lochanna (the music of the lakes), it aims to preserve and strengthen the culture of the area.
The courses, in Colaiste Mhuire, Tourmakeady, are open to all ages from 10 years.
Subjects taught include all the traditional instruments, the Irish language, seannos singing and set dancing.
