UK retailer Marks and Spencer is to create 150 jobs in Northern Ireland.

Full and part-time staff are being recruited for most of its stores across the North to help keep up with increasing customer demand.

After its fourth consecutive quarter of sales growth chief executive Stuart Rose said the company would be recruiting an extra 4,000 staff across the United Kingdom.

He said the hiring of staff over the next two or three months was earlier than planned as demand had been ahead of expectations.
