A quiet morning for the main financials kept the market relatively subdued overall. The ISEQ index of shares was up 31.76 points to 5,819.00 by lunchtime.
AIB was up 3 cents to euro 11.78 with Bank of Ireland also up 3 cents to euro 10.23. Anglo-Irish Bank was down 2 cents at euro 3.69.
Eircom rose 5 cents to be trading at euro 2.37 following news that Vodafone has got the green light to buy Eircell from the European Commission.
The fortunes of tech giant Iona continue to be volatile. Its share price was down 2.23 to euro 45.50.

Irish Continental was down 20 cents at 7.30 while Jury's was down 30 at euro 10.40. Greencore was also weak, down 3 cents at 2.95.
