A 28-year-old woman was stabbed in the heart following a row in a bedroom last November, Judge John O'Hagan heard at Carlow Circuit Court yesterday.

Mr Dermot Lennon, otherwise known as Mr Gus Lennon, with an address at Riverside, Carlow, is pleading not guilty to the manslaughter of Dearbhla Keating at Kilkenny on November 19th.

He is further pleading not guilty to endangerment in that he intentionally or recklessly stabbed her with a knife on November 18th.

The 27-year-old defendant is further pleading not guilty to assaulting Mr Alan Walsh, causing him serious injury at Riverside on the same date, and with endangerment in that he stabbed Mr Walsh with a knife.

The trial continues.
