Man with hammer robs Co Antrim bank

A man escaped with an undisclosed sum of money after a robbery in Ballyclare in Co Antrim yesterday.

A man escaped with an undisclosed sum of money after a robbery in Ballyclare in Co Antrim yesterday.

The RUC said a man with a hammer entered a bank on Main St and jumped over the counter at 1.30 p.m. He left the scene in a red Vauxhall Calibra car driven by another man.

The car was recovered in the New Lodge Road in Belfast last night. The RUC is appealing for people with information to call 0800 555 111.
