A 32-year-old man has been shot in both legs in what police described as a paramilitary-style attack in west  Belfast.

A PSNI spokeswoman said the man was approached last night by two men in balaclavas at Agnes Street near the Shankill Road and shot in the legs.

The victim was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital for treatment.
