A man was beaten with iron bars and shot in the leg in a "punishment" attack in Co Antrim early yesterday.
A number of masked men forced their way into the 26 year old victim's house at Carnany Avenue, Ballymoney, at around 1 a.m. They went upstairs where the man was sleeping with his wife and, after beating him, dragged him downstairs. He was forced to lie on the floor, where the attackers shot him in the leg with a shotgun.
