A man who was allegedly arrested in possession of a loaded pistol at a pub in Dublin at the weekend has been remanded in custody.

The man (24) was arrested on Saturday night in Templeogue and taken to Terenure Garda Station for questioning.

Asearch was later carried out at a premises and heroin with an estimated value of €150,000 and a quantity of ammunition was seized.

The man appeared in in Dublin District Court today charged with the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition. He was remanded in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court next week.
