The boyfriend of a young mother stabbed to death earlier this week in Belfast wept uncontrollably as he appeared in court today charged with her murder.

Mr Andrew Robinson cried out that he loved 22-year-old Julie-Ann Osborne, who was found dead at the home they shared with their 19-month-old daughter in Shankill Terrace, Belfast, on Wednesday.

A detective chief inspector told Belfast Magistrates Court that when charged, Mr Robinson, 22, said: "I send my condolences to Julie-Ann's family. The police will get to the bottom of this. I didn't do it."

His solicitor said his client was "emotionally shattered" by Julie-Ann's death and he was strenuously contesting the charge.
