An unemployed welder, who claimed he had been knocked down by a bus shortly after leaving a pub celebration to mark the birth of a baby, has lost damages claim against Dublin Bus.

Circuit Court president Mr Justice Matthew Deery told Derek Potter, Darndale, that the more likely cause of any incident in which he may have been involved was that he had rather too much to drink and may simply have fallen over.
