Man kneecapped by loyalists

Loyalist paramilitaries are believed to have carried out last night's "punishment" shooting of a young man in east Belfast.

Loyalist paramilitaries are believed to have carried out last night's "punishment" shooting of a young man in east Belfast.

The man was shot in the right leg after being abducted by a group of men in the Ballybean housing estate in the Dundonald area. The RUC said the man was found in a field at the rear of houses in Longstone Close at 10.30 p.m. The man was not seriously injured.
