Man jailed for uploading child pornography to website

A man has been jailed for a year at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for uploading child pornography on to the internet.

A man has been jailed for a year at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for uploading child pornography on to the internet.

Paul Kane (39) was caught after a photo-sharing website discovered it was being used to distribute the material and handed over Kane’s details to gardaí. Kane, Blessington Street, Dublin, pleaded guilty to distributing the material by posting it to a pornographic site on July 17th, 2009, at Lower Dorset Street, Dublin. He was registered as a sex offender.

Judge Martin Nolan said if it were not for people like Kane, many children would not be subjected to sexual abuse.
