Newark - An unemployed chemical engineer held his son hostage for five hours inside their home in Newark, New Jersey, before releasing him yesterday after police discovered the bodies of his wife and mother-in-law in the kitchen, authorities said.
After negotiations with police, Mr Ali Kemoum released the boy at about 1 p.m. (6 p.m. Irish time), police said.
Mr Kemoum, believed to be 53, was taken from the house peacefully about an hour after the boy was freed.
