The first Central Criminal Court jury to return a verdict on a Sunday has found a 41year-old Dublin man guilty of raping and sexually assaulting his now 30-year-old niece in the 1970s.
Mr Justice Butler remanded the defendant on continuing bail for sentence on April 6th. He cannot be named for legal reasons.
The man, from a southwest city suburb, had pleaded not guilty to 10 charges.
