A South African national charged with importing £50,000 worth of herbal cannabis at Shannon Airport on September 6th last was yesterday returned for trial at Ennis District Court.

Mr Stefanus Myburgh (40) from Johannesburg was arrested after custom officials discovered 22.7 kg of the drug in his luggage.

Mr Myburgh was further remanded in custody to the Circuit Court sitting in Ennis on February 6th.
