A 19-year-old man was due to appear in court today on weapons charges linked to the discovery of a bomb-making factory in north Belfast.

It follows a search on Monday of a block of flats in Mount Vernon.

Pipe bomb component parts, home-made explosives and other items were found at an address in the estate.

The man, charged with possession of ammunition, is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court.
