GARDAI in Dublin are searching for a nightclub bouncer convicted of manslaughter in 1991, after he hailed to return to Mountjoy Prison after a day's release.

Noel Chubb (35) had been attending a daily workshop training programme in Santry and failed to return to the jail on July 17th.

In May, 1991, he was convicted of the manslaughter of Seamus Broderick (27), a civil servant from Galway, at Leeson Street, Dublin. The court was told Chubb punched and kicked Broderick before throwing him down a set of steps.

Chubb was due for release next May.
