A man has been remanded in custody after he appeared in court in Dublin charged with the murder of another man in a pub over a year ago.

Bernard Hempenstall (26), of Park Terrace, The Coombe, Dublin 8, appeared before the Dublin District Court charged with the murder of John Carroll at Grumpy Jacks in the Coombe on February 18th 2009.

Three men appeared before Dublin District Court last week charged in connection with the same murder.

Carroll (33), a suspected drugs trafficker, was gunned down as he sat drinking in the pub .

Damien Johnston (27) from Crumlin, Peter Kenny (28) from Rialto (27) and Christopher Zambra (35) were all charged with the killing on Friday March 5th.
