A man who is seeking refugee status in the State obtained goods with a stolen credit card after his social welfare payments were cut off, Dunshaughlin Court heard yesterday.

Idris Thompson, a Nigerian national with no fixed address here, admitted seven sample charges of obtaining goods by fraud with a stolen credit card.

He was sentenced to concurrent terms of four months on each of the seven counts of obtaining goods by fraud. The Aliens Office is to be notified of the conviction.
