A 22-year-old man has died in a crash in Co Longford.
He was walking on the raod at Carrickboy when he was hit by a car shortly after 2am.
He was a local man but his name has not yet been released. His boyd was taken to the Mullingar Regional Hospital.
A total of 208 people have died on the State's roads so far this year.
