An Irish man who was arrested today on foot of a European arrest warrant has been remanded in custody following an emergency hearing at the High Court this afternoon.

Mr Dermot McArdle, originally of Haggardstown, Dundalk was arrested at 12.45 p.m. in Ballyjamesduff, Co Cavan in connection with the death his wife Kelly Ann in Marbella in February 2000

He was remanded until November 30th

Ms McCardle who lived in Wheaton Hall, Drogheda, with Mr McArdle at the time of her death died after falling from a fourth floor hotel balcony in the Costa del Sol resort.
