Freddie Ljungberg has set his sights on returning to Premiership action later this month when Arsenal host Bolton.

The Sweden international has been on the sidelines since a hip operation just after the World Cup but, having come through a reserve clash last night, wants to return against Bolton on September 21st.

Ljungberg said: "I have only done two sessions of training before playing. I had a major operation on my hip and have been out for three months so it is important to be a bit cautious.

"There can be a big reaction if you hurry back too early. It is important to give yourself a bit of time to get used to playing again.

"I am ahead of schedule and I must look at that as a positive. Soon I'll be back playing with any luck," he said.
