An Post has said it cannot say when its report into claims that the former TD Mr Liam Lawlor was able to have an address changed from Clondalkin to Lucan will be concluded.

Yesterday An Post said the investigation was being carried out by its internal audit office, but it could not say when it would be complete, but that it would likely be "next year". On October 24th, An Post said its internal investigation would "take another two to three weeks to complete".

It also said it could not reveal whether senior staff at the company's head office would have been involved in a decision to change addresses.

An Post at first said it had no information on the claims by Mr Séamus Ross of Menolly Homes that he had paid £40,000 to Mr Lawlor to have his Earlsfort development changed from a Clondalkin, Dublin 22, address to Lucan, Co Dublin. The difference in valuation terms netted the property developer more than €3 million, but An Post also revealed yesterday it had been in contact with the Mahon tribunal before Mr Ross's evidence last October 8th.
